June Norfleet

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2013 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Greg Breeden officiating. Visitation from noon -2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the First Church of the Nazarene in Shelbyville.
June was born on November 30, 1930 in Shelby County, Illinois, the daughter of Selby and Fannie Debolt Hopkins. She began working as a cook in the Clarksburg and Shelbyville schools. She later became a Nurses Aid and worked for Shelby Memorial Hospital for over 20 years. After she retired from the hospital, she was a caregiver in her home. June was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Shelbyville. She married Warren Wilson Edwards on December 2, 1947 and he died on May 18, 1985. On November 19, 1991, she married Rev. Robert Norfleet.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; daughter, Sandra Crockett (Matt) of Shelbyville; step-daughter, Bobette Chere’ Tester (David) of Sidell and Barbette Jere Serepin of Ramsey; step-son, Martin Dale “Marty” Norfleet (Paige) of Oregon; sister, Gene Arganbright of Shelbyville; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Warren; son, Dennis B. “Brad” Edwards; grandson, Jake Edwards; sisters, Alvena Childress and Retha Townsend; brothers, Dale Hopkins and Kenneth Hopkins; and step-sister, Fern Ellen Page.
