Junior Beck

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, October 27, 2013 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. John O’Neal and Rev. David Beerbower officiating. Visitation from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday and one hour before services on Sunday. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Assumption, IL. Memorials may be given to Gideons International, Leader Dogs for the Blind, National Rifle Association or Shelby County Humane Society.
Junior was born on July 6, 1935 near Assumption, IL, the son of G. R. and Irene Hubner Beck. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1953. Junior owned and operated Beck’s Repair Shop in Westervelt, IL. He was also a Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputy for 20 years and farmed in the Westervelt area. Junior was a member of Knobs Baptist Church, near Tower Hill, IL, Fraternal Order of Police, Shelby County Farm Bureau and the National Rifle Association. He married Joyce Trainor on February 25, 1956.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; sons, Joe Beck and fiancée Melanie Pierson of Shelbyville and Jack Beck and wife Janet of Shelbyville; daughter, Jean Beck Henne and husband Scott of Shelbyville; sisters, Joan Andrews and Leni Beck both of Chicago; and granddaughters, Ashley Henne and Jackie Beck.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
