Karen J Carnaghi

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2014 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Pastor Linda Trent officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in Spring Hill Cemetery, Danville, IL. Memorials may be given to Main Street School.
Karen was born on September 16, 1946 in Danville, IL, to parents Harry and Elizabeth Scott Ruper. Karen graduated from Danville High School in 1964, and worked at Quaker Oats and sold real estate with Century 21. She was a member of Fourth Street United Methodist Church in Shelbyville and enjoyed her friends there. Karen also served as a volunteer at Main Street School in Shelbyville and enjoyed working with children. She was a strong supporter of all American enlisted men and women and law enforcement officers. Her hobbies included knitting, sewing, and babysitting area children. She loved her dog, Winston, a spaniel mix.
Surviving are her daughter, Robyn Carswell, husband John, of Shelbyville, IL and granddaughters, Mary Katherine, Savannah and Elizabeth Carswell at home; daughter, Sharlynn Shank of Shelbyville, IL and grandson, Gage Michael Kramer of Mobile, AL; and son, Joshua Carnaghi, wife Megan of Williamsburg, VA and grandson, Jacob Carnaghi at home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Rodney “Butch” Ruper and Roger Michael “Mike” Ruper.
