Karen S Woodland

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2016 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Dr. Steve Nance officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday. Family graveside services will be held later in Mound Cemetery, Pana, IL. Memorials may be given to her family.
Karen was born on June 15, 1965 in Pana, IL. She was the eighth child born to Robert “Bob” and Rosemary May (McDonald) Cloe. She attended Pana schools with the exception of two years in Junior High at Sparta, TN. She graduated from Pana High School in the Class of 1983.
Karen had many talents including state awards in Art. She was an avid seamstress who regularly made costumes for her grandchildren and family members upon request. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse pursuing her BSN in Nursing. Karen loved her job. Her family was most proud of her accomplishments in her continuing education and her compassion for others while working many years in the medical field.
Karen loved her family and was her happiest when with her children and grandchildren. She was always telling anyone she met about her children and grandchildren and the stories were always accompanied with her favorite pictures.
Karen is survived by her son, Zachary Holmes (Christa) of Ocala, FL; daughter Cierra Jordan (Sean) of Westminster, CO; grandchildren, Elleana and Apollo Jordan of Westminster, CO and Violet and Vale Holmes of Ocala, FL; mother, Rosemary Cloe of Tower Hill, IL; brothers, Michael Cloe (Janet) of Carterville, IL, Mitch Cloe (Vicki) of Pana, IL, Mark Cloe (Bev) of White Heath, IL, Marty Cloe (Evelyn) of Tower Hill, IL, Les Ray (Kellie) of Herrick, IL and Matthew Cloe of Arcola, IL; sisters, Linda Richardson (John) of Brownstown, IL, Sharon Flatt (Tom) of Rosamond, IL, Cathy Markham (Steve) of Lakebay, WA and Valerie Funneman (Donnie) of Tower Hill, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews. Karen is also survived by her longtime partner, Gaston Woodland of Decatur, IL.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Cloe; daughter, Chanelle Holmes; and granddaughter, Hazel Holmes.
