Katherine Elizabeth Knearem, 35, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 9:54 a.m. Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 17, 2021 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Mark Sanders and Myles Foor officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 16, 2021 in the funeral home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Shelbyville Girls Softball or Lake Land College Foundation and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 North Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.

Katherine was born on May 30, 1986 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of James Eugene and Kathy Jean (Lape) Knearem. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 2004 and also from Lake Land College, Mattoon, IL.   Katherine worked in the Accounting Department at Lake Land College.  She previously worked for Joseph’s Landing and Software Solutions, Inc. both in Shelbyville and Tailwinds in Findlay.  Katherine was a proud aunt and enjoyed taking her niece and nephews to fun destinations.   She also loved shopping and traveling with her mom, most recently to Myrtle Beach.  Katherine cherished spending time with her family and friends, and will always be remembered for her beautiful smile.

Katherine is survived by her mother, Kathy Knearem; brothers, Brock Knearem of Shelbyville and Blake Knearem (Ashlee) of Shelbyville; niece, Delia Knearem; nephews, Breyden Knearem and Rylan Knight; grandmother, Jean Lape of Shelbyville; aunts and uncles, John Knearem (Tracy) of Shelbyville, Julie Kneller (Mike) of Shelbyville, Jodie Knearem of Shelbyville, Jess Mount (Tracy) of Indianapolis, IN, Jerry Knearem (Jessica) of Shelbyville, Marlow Stephens (Charlie) of Shelbyville, Robert Mount (Shelly) of Shelbyville; Steve Lape (Cindy) of Oak Ridge, TN, Brad Lape of Shelbyville and Susan Miller (Tom) of Shelbyville; several cousins; and her beloved dog, Dudley.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Knearem on August 10, 2021; grandparents, John Dale Knearem, Janet Faye Knearem Mount, J.D. Mount and Bob Lape; cousin, Brooke Knearem Coleman; and uncle, Rodney Stephens.
