Kathryn “Kathy” Jean Hubner , 65, of Tower Hill, IL passed away at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL.

Kathy was born on August 6, 1955 in Litchfield, IL, the daughter of Lloyd and Martha (Baugher) Giberson. She grew up in Schram City, IL and later moved to Shelbyville, IL where she graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1973. Kathy married Steve Hubner on March 2, 1974 in Shelbyville, IL. In 1989, Kathy began working at Shelby County Community Services, where she was a production assistant. She truly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Steve; daughter, Tonya Atteberry and husband Craig of Shelbyville, IL; son, Joe Hubner and wife Danielle of Pana, IL; mother, Martha Giberson of Shelbyville, IL; mother-in-law, Nancy Hubner of Tower Hill, IL; sister, Karen Endsley of Shelbyville, IL; brother, Mike Giberson and wife Tammy of Kincaid, IL; grandchildren, Kasey Atteberry, Amber Atteberry, Hannah Hubner, Alexis Hubner, and Courtney Hubner; and great-grandchildren, Waylon Cushman, Gabby Cushman, Liam Brunken, and Easton Bly.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Giberson; and father-in-law, Roscoe Hubner.

In keeping with Kathy’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Shelby County Community Services for their Special Olympics Team and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 North Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.
