Kathy Phillips

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, September 4, 2015 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Pastor Gary Bauerle officiating. Visitation will be from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Fellowship Baptist Church or Shelby Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Kathy was born November 20, 1941 in Herrick, IL, the daughter of John Wilson and Ethel Irene Cunningham Henderson. She graduated from Herrick High School in the class of 1959 and later graduated from Sparks Business College. Kathy worked as the accounting and data processing manager at Shelby Memorial Hospital, retiring in 2007, after 41 years of service. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Shelbyville where she played piano and was treasurer for 23 years. Kathy enjoyed her retirement and loved to travel. She married Edward F. “Eddie” Phillips on August 24, 1963 and he preceded her in death on November 8, 1981.

Kathy is survived by her two sons, Brad Phillips (Donna) of Herrick and Ron Phillips (Carrie) of Shelbyville. She is also survived by her grandchildren Derick Phillips, Donald Phillips (Destiony), Laura Koester (Clinton), John Phillips, and Nicholas Phillips, and Zachary James Brickey (Claire) all of Shelbyville, Zachary Phillips of Effingham and Austin Brickey of Tyndall Air Force Base, FL; and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Eddie Phillips.
