Kayletta L. “Kay” Wilson , 70, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 5:15 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2023 Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL.

Private burial will take place in Drummond Cemetery, Neoga, IL. A celebration of Kay’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Saving Orphaned Animals and mailed to Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, 415 North Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.

Kay was born on April 4, 1953 in Kankakee, IL, the daughter of Floyd E. and Mary Margaret (Wiegle) Cody. She attended school in Chebanse through 7 th grade, and graduated from Mattoon High School in the Class of 1971. Kay married William P. “Perk” Wilson on October 26, 1989 in Charleston, IL. Kay worked at Casey’s, Walmart, and International Paper in Shelbyville, and as a hostess at Windsor’s Pub. She also owned and operated her own web design business, Web Images. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her Mastiffs.

Kay is survived by her husband, Perk; mother, Mary Margaret Cody of Tower Hill, IL; sons, Paul Everett Wilson of Cedar Rapids, IA, Carl Edward Schwenker of Strasburg, IL, and Douglas Roy Wilson (Katie) of East Augusta, SC; daughters, Sandra Schwenker of Shelbyville, and Danielle Wilson (Luke Palmer) of Nottingham, PA; step-daughter, Laura Bell (Eric) of Covington, IN; brother, Timothy Cody of Sullivan, IL; sisters, Marcella Nash (Tim) of Virginia, Joni Cookson (Keith) of Tower Hill, IL; and Gayla Pauley (Warren) of Mattoon, IL; ten grandchildren, Lorali, Gabrielle, Dylan, Alliyiah, Nathaniel, Madison, Andrew, Kristin, Ethan, and Amelia; and five great grandchldren and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her father; brother, Larry Joe Edward Cody; and son, Brandon Schwenker.
