Keith A. Lay

Keith A. Lay , 46, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 4:45 p.m. Thursday, July 4, 2024, in his residence.

Keith was born on September 3, 1977, in Lexington, KY, the son of Clinton R. Sr. and Karen Louise (Metzger) Lay. Keith graduated from Central A&M High School and later earned his HVAC certification. Keith worked as a machine operator and forklift driver for Firestone in Decatur, IL, La Vergne, TN, and Des Moines, IA. In his spare time, Keith enjoyed fixing and restoring trucks.

Keith is survived by his sons, Kyle Lay (Emma) of Georgia, and Bryce Lay of Lewisburg, TN; mother, Karen Lay of Shelbyville, IL; grandmother, Louise Metzger of Shelbyville, IL; brothers, Christopher Lay (Rosemary) of Roswell, GA, and Chad Lay (Amy) of Assumption, IL; sister, Suzanne Courtney of Panama City Beach, FL; and two grandchildren, Sage Lay and Decklin Lay.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clinton R. Lay, Sr.
