Kenneth T Hudson
(April 23, 1922 – January 21, 2015)
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. E. Wade Helmkamp officiating. Visitation will be from Noon-1:00 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Make-A-Wish-Illinois.
Mr. Hudson was born on April 23, 1922 in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Albert and Cleota (Smith) Hudson. He attended Shelbyville schools, graduating in 1941. He attended several colleges and served in the United States Army during WW II at the Battle of the Bulge. Kenneth taught and coached basketball at Windsor grade school. He retired from the Illinois Department of Public Aid after 23 years. He married Dorothy Noffke on April 20, 1951, she preceded him in death on January 25, 1987. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and Roy Vanderpool American Legion Post #81 both in Shelbyville.
Surviving are his sons, Kerry (Jean) Hudson and Stacey Hudson both of Shelbyville, IL and Kenneth (Missy) Hudson of Cowden, IL; daughters, Paula (Russell) VanWaus of Victor, IA and Marla (Terry) Baird of Chatham, IL; grandchildren, W. Trevor, Kyle, Emilie, Miranda, Corey, Andrew, Haley and Kelcie; and great grandchildren, Will, Mia, Brayden, Jadyn, Jace, Kyley, Tanner, Pyper, Maddie and Luke.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy; brother, Carl Hudson; infant brother, Donald Hudson; infant sister, Dortha Hudson; and great granddaughter, Susan Baird.
