Kermit Elwin Radloff, 85, of Pharr, Texas passed away peacefully in his sleep at 7:30 p.m. on November 26, 2015.

Kermit was born March 14, 1930, in Shelbyville, Illinois, the son of Glen Radloff and Zepha Hagerman Radloff. He married Ruth Stuckemeyer on November 24, 1950 in Strasburg, Illinois. She survives. Other survivors include two children, Michael Radloff of Charleston, Illinois and Steven Radloff of Katy, Texas; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Maxine Meyer, Noberta Renshaw, John Radloff and Glen Radloff, Jr.

Following his service to his country in the Korean War, Kermit finished his education at Eastern Illinois University where he played basketball and baseball. He was later a teacher and coach at Danville High School, Athletic Director at Rich Central High School and Mattoon High School and finished his career as the principal for Mattoon Junior High School where he worked until his retirement. He remained an avid and accomplished athlete and won many medals while participating in the Senior Olympics throughout the state of Texas where he enjoyed his retirement with his loving wife Ruth in Pharr, Texas. He loved his family, friends and others he met during his travels and always had a joke or story to share with those he met and knew. Kermit was a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 11:00 o’clock a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Strasburg, Illinois with Pastor Steven Becker officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the beginning of the services. Howe & Yockey Funeral Homes, Strasburg, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
