Kleon Haworth, Jr.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville with Rev. E. Wade Helmkamp officiating. Howe & Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given to the Shelby County Senior Center or Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Shelbyville.
Mr. Haworth was born on May 6, 1926 in Shelbyville, the son of Kleon L. and Ethel Mae Robison Haworth, Sr. He graduated Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1944 and later from Allied School of Tool and Die. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II. He worked as a machinist for the Oliver Corporation and Shelby Tool and Die both in Shelbyville. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a 50 year member of Jackson Masonic Lodge #53 both of Shelbyville. He married Mary E. Wortman on July 21, 1946.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; sons, James Haworth and wife Melissa of Bourbonnais, IL and Gary Haworth of San Antonio, TX; daughter, Penny Jiter and husband Brad of Shelbyville; brother, James Ray Haworth and wife JoAnn of San Diego, CA; sister-in-law, Betty Haworth of Sarasota, FL; six grandchildren, Chism, Kyle, Derek and Tara Haworth, and Brady and Whitney Jiter; and one great grandchild, Razelle Haworth.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, John Charles Haworth.
