Kristie S Frederick

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Kevin Ray officiating. Visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Dodge Grove Cemetery, Mattoon, IL. Memorials may be given to the Bowling for Boobs Fund Raiser in Shelbyville or the Benefit Fund for Kristie Frederick.

Mrs. Frederick was born on April 3, 1960 in Mattoon, IL, the daughter of Robert “Bob” and Doris Johnson McDowell. She graduated from Mattoon High School in the Class of 1978. She continued her education at Lakeland College and graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Education in Special Education. Kristie was a former special education teacher in Neoga CUSD #3. She was an active supporter of the Relay for Life in Shelbyville and an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and NASCAR. She married John W. Frederick on November 2, 2002.

Surviving are her husband, John; sons, Kris Cisna and wife Briana of Shelbyville and Drew Cisna and special friend Jennifer Houck of Shelbyville; daughter, Jaclyn Frederick and husband Wes of Shelbyville; step-son, Nate Frederick and wife Marci of Shelbyville; mother, Doris Dallas and husband Larry of Mattoon; sister, Robin McDowell of Mattoon; and grandchildren, PFC Erin Nichols and wife Tiffany, Kelsi, Chloe, Natalie, Zoe, Delani, and Josee Frederick, Madison and Chevelle Cisna, Baily Ryan, and Cade and Cole.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert “Bob” McDowell.
