Larry E Grove

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011 in Strasburg United Methodist Church with Rev. Kathy Lewis officiating. Visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, IL. Burial will be in Grace Cemetery, Strasburg, IL with military rites by Scott Air Force Base Honor Guard. Memorials maybe given to the American Cancer Society or to his family.
Larry was born on July 22, 1955 in Greenville, South Carolina, the son of Lester Gene and Shirley Jeanne Wheat Grove. He graduated from Stewardson-Strasburg High School in the Class of 1973. He then served in the United States Air Force from 1974 to 1994, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. Larry was employed at Tinker AFB, OK as a Test Cell Element Chief in the Propulsion Group.
Surviving are his daughter, Mandi Grove of Oklahoma City, OK; sons, Joshua Grove and wife Bethany of Oklahoma City, OK and Ryan Grove of Shawnee, OK; brother, Lanny Grove and wife Susan of Stewardson; sisters, Patty Laue and husband Jerry of Beecher City, IL and Pam Fry and husband Dennis of Shumway, IL; and two grandchildren, Alexis Acy and Ian Grove both of Oklahoma City, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
