Larry Lynn Storm , 75, formerly of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 1, 2021 in Heartland Senior Living, Neoga, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2021 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL, with Pastor Mike Burdick officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial with military rites will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Strasburg, IL.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Heartland Senior Living Activity Fund.

Larry was born on November 9, 1945, in Shelbyville, IL, the son of W.C. “Rip” and Lila (Kull) Storm. Larry attended Stewardson-Strasburg High School in the Class of 1963. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. When Larry returned from the service, he worked as a computer operator for the University of Illinois.  He later worked for International Paper in Shelbyville and Rural King in Mattoon, IL.  Larry was a member of American Legion Post #289 of Strasburg, IL. He married Jacquelin Joy “Jackie” Knearem on September 16, 1991 and she preceded him in death on March 15, 2018.

Larry is survived by his son, Bruce Storm of Ragland, AL; step-daughter, Rhonda Ator (Doug) of Lewisville, TX; brothers, Dave Storm (Debby) of Effingham, IL, Doug Storm (Jane) of Effingham, IL, Kurt Storm of Strasburg, IL; sisters, Linda Oakley (Joe) of Strasburg, IL, Connie Avery (Minor) of Lindenwood, IL, Jill Layton (Steve) of Toledo, IL, and Kathy Eckstein (Dr. William) of Strasburg, IL; several step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, Rip and Lila Storm; wife, Jackie; sister, Carol Manhart; and step-son, Chad Daniels.

Larry’s family would like to thank the staff at Heartland Senior Living for their excellent care and support over the last four years.
