Larry E. Thrall

Larry E. Thrall, 69, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 1:03 p.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2025, in Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL.

A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at a later date. Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville is assisting the family. Memorials may be given to Saving Orphaned Animals and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 North Broadway Shelbyville, IL. 

Larry was born on November 26, 1955, in Grayville, IL, the son of Lawrence Elgin and Louise (Maglone) Thrall. He attended Robinson High School and was a member of the Class of 1973. Larry loved being an over the road truck driver. He drove for Bekin, Risinger Brothers, and Marvin Keller before his retirement. Larry enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, trucking, traveling and above all, spending time with his grandchildren who were his pride and joy. He married Cheryl R. Pettyjohn on January 5, 1990. 

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Pettyjohn of Shelbyville, IL; daughter, Elizabeth Lewis (Matthew) of Shelbyville, IL; grandchildren, Owen and Emily Lewis; brother, Tom Thrall of Olney, IL; and sister, Sharon Lancaster (Eddie) of Olney, IL.

 He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joey Pruemer; sister, Pam Montgomery; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Russell and Mary Pettyjohn.
