Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2015 in the First Christian Church of Herrick, IL with Rev. Dennis Corley and Rev. Paul Dickerson officiating. Casual attire is requested. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday and one hour before service time on Monday in the church. Burial will be in Myers Cemetery, near Herrick, IL. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to the First Christian Church of Herrick, IL.
Lena was born on March 6, 1931 in Fayette County, IL, the daughter of Jake and Pearl Sarver Chandler. She graduated from Herrick High School in the Class of 1950. Lena was a member of the First Christian Church of Herrick, American Legion Auxiliary and Order of Eastern Star of Pana, formerly of Herrick. She married Edward F. Witt on May 18, 1952.
She is survived by her husband, Edward; son, Scott Witt and wife Kim of Girard, IL; daughter, Susan Berryman of Shelbyville, IL; brother, Dean Chandler and wife Teresa of Herrick, IL; grandchildren, Jared Berryman and wife Jennifer, Savanna Berryman, Ashlee Johnston and husband Jesse, Ashton Ballinger and husband Ethan, Tiffany Griffith and husband Aaron, Quinton Witt and wife April and Duston Witt; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Paul D. Berryman; and nephew, Doug Chandler.
