Lena Ann (Keebler) Selstad, 83, of Shelbyville, IL, died Sunday, March 21, 2021, at her home, with family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 26, 2021 in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Shelbyville, IL with Father Pawel Augustyniak as celebrant. Lena was born on February 14, 1938, in Long Bridge, Lafayette Parrish, Louisiana, the daughter of Mason Nelson and Gertrude J (Jeansonne) Keebler. She married Dale Irvin Selstad, on April 23, 1966, in Dayton, Ohio.

Lena spent her high school years and early adulthood living in Dayton. She was a graduate of Wilbur Wright High School in 1957, and worked at Essex Wire, prior to meeting Dale. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Fort Wayne, IN, where their two sons, Eric and Tyler were born. Lena devoted her life to her two sons. Lena, Dale and the boys moved to Shelbyville, in 1980, where Lena helped Dale with his business, until they both retired. Although she transplanted to Illinois, she remained a “Buckeye”.

Lena was very athletic, growing up playing softball, with her brothers, and playing tennis into her 70s. She passed her love of tennis on to her boys, and on occasion you could find Lena and Dale playing mixed doubles at the park. Lena never missed a High School tennis match while her sons competed, no matter how far away they were.  She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and generally attended mass on Saturday evenings when she could. Art was one of her passions, she painted with different mediums, such as oil and watercolors. And enjoyed attending weekly art classes, when available.

She is survived by her two sons, Eric (April) Selstad, of Charleston, IL, and Tyler (Natalie) Selstad, of West Hartford, CT; grandchildren Graydon, Garrett and Avery Selstad, and step-grandchildren Steven Avrenli, of Syracuse, NY and Kayla and Jesse Jenkins, of Charleston, IL; and her brother Mason (Marilyn) Keebler, Jr of Indian Land, SC.

Lena was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dale on March 3, 2013; her sister Dolly (Keebler) Lukas, and brothers Burton Joseph and Kenneth P Keebler.
