Leonard Wheat

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Jordan Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church or the American Heart Association.
Mr. Wheat was born on January 13, 1923 in Shelbyville, IL, the son of John L. and Elizabeth Ann Bainbridge Wheat. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Shelbyville, IL. He married Ruby A. Hayward on January 16, 1944.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby; daughter, Nancy Agney (James) of Shelbyville, IL; son, Gary Wheat (Jeanie) of Paris, IL; grandsons, Troy Leon Agney (Kathleen) of Strasburg, IL and Tracy Lynn Agney (Charlotte) of Shelbyville, IL; great grandchildren, Lee James Agney (Katie) of Mattoon, IL, Jarred Agney (Regina) of Taylorville, IL, Samantha Cohan (Jim) of Shelbyville, IL, Kaylee Agney of Carbondale, IL, Derek Agney of Neoga, IL and Alexis Agney of Strasburg, IL; and one great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and great granddaughter, Courtney Jordan Agney.
