Leroy G. Lieb, 89, of Shelbyville, IL, died at 8:35 a.m. Thursday, January 16, 2014 in Shelbyville Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014 in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Shelbyville with Father Don Wolford as Celebrant assisted by Deacon John O’Brien. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday in the church with Rosary Service at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Knights of Columbus Council #8690 of Shelbyville, IL.

Mr. Lieb was born October 11, 1924 in Camargo, IL, the son of George F. and Rose Catherine Schweighart Lieb. He began working as a mechanic at Wright-Patterson AFB in Springfield, OH in 1942. Leroy then worked for Sears for 34 years, in Davenport, IA and Shelbyville, IL, retiring in 1985. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Shelbyville and Knights of Columbus Council #8690 of Shelbyville. Leroy was an avid bowler. He married Mary Joyce Neese on December 27, 1947.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; sons, Roger Lieb and wife Cindy of New Berlin, WI and Paul Lieb of Shelbyville, IL; daughter, Barbara Fischer and husband Douglas of Birchwood, WI; sister, Rosemary McDonald of Tuscola, IL; 17 grandchildren; and 28 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four grandsons, Jonathan, Zachary, Joseph and Anthony Lieb; four great grandchildren; brother, Louis “Jim” Lieb; and sister, Esther Craig McGilligan.
