Leroy R Coventry

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2015 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Father Don Wolford officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Wright Cemetery, Findlay, IL. Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
Leroy was born on March 11, 1941 in Everett, Washington, the son of Raymond H. and Hazel L. Hiatt Coventry. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1960. Leroy farmed with his father in the Westervelt area for many years. He also worked for Firestone Tire Company in Decatur, IL, where he was a tire builder, forklift operator and union steward. Leroy attended Hillside Bethel Tabernacle in Decatur, IL. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Leroy married Jo Ann Sheppard on February 18, 1962 in Decatur, IL. She died on December 2, 1996.
He is survived by his son, Rick L. Coventry of Mt. Zion, IL; daughter, Sandra Gray of Tulsa, OK; sister, Marybell Brown of Forsythe, MO; and two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jo Ann; brothers, Alfred and Albert Porter; and sisters, Alma Robillard and Beverly Bingham.
