Leslie Jane Considine, 37, of Shelbyville, passed away at her home at 12:10 a.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2013.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday May 24, 2013 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Mark Sanders officiating. Memorials may be given to the Shelbyville Schools Student Fund or her friends and family are encouraged to make a donation of blood in Leslie’s memory through the American Red Cross.

Leslie was born on July 20, 1975 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Robert Carl and Cynthia Sue Patterson Gipson. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1993. Leslie was a gifted athlete and still holds the hurdle records at the high school. She also enjoyed cheerleading and took a trip to London her senior year with a cheerleading group. Leslie earned her Associates Degree from Lake Land College in Mattoon. She began working at Yellowbook in Effingham as a graphic artist. Leslie also moonlighted as a waitress at the Timbers near Strasburg and the Longbranch Grill in Shelbyville. She later worked for the Shelby County Land and Title Corporation in Shelbyville before going to work for Caterpillar, Inc. in Decatur, where she was a Product Support Specialist. She was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and enjoyed going to concerts, spending time with the girls and going to the river. She loved children and taught gymnastics at the Effingham Academy of Gymnastics. Leslie was a kid at heart and loved to make her grandchildren smile and laugh. She was a devoted “Granny” and provided the strength for her family. Leslie and Eric have been together for over 15 years and were married on May 23, 2009.

She is survived by her husband, Eric M. Considine; sons, Kyler Considine of Sullivan and Hunter Considine of Pana; daughters, Jennifer Considine of Bethany and Hannah Considine of Pana; father, Robert “Bob” Gipson and wife Sharon of Shelbyville; brothers, Robert Gipson and wife Kathi of Taylorville, Jason Gipson and wife Dawn of Shelbyville and Darren Gipson of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Jade, Jules and Roland; aunts, Lisa Standerfer and Mary Cain both of Shelbyville; and many close girlfriends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Cynthia Sue Gipson Vail; grandparents; and one brother, David Gipson.
