Letha Joy Lang
(September 15, 1920 – February 20, 2014)
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2014 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, IL with Rev. C. W. Lewis officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Lower Ash Grove Cemetery, near Strasburg, IL. Memorials may be given to the Strasburg United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Lang was born on September 15, 1920 near Windsor, IL, the daughter of Gaylord M. and Ollie Pearl McFadden Figgins. She graduated from Stewardson High School in the Class of 1935. Joy was a cashier for a hotel in California and later owned and operated a knitting shop in Arizona. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing cards and shopping. Joy was a member of the Strasburg United Methodist Church. She married Dudley Wright. He preceded her in death. She later married Herbert Lang. He died on January 19, 1985.
She is survived by her nephew, Mac Figgins and wife Debbie of Strasburg, IL; niece, Sandra Bugenhagen of Mode, IL; several great nieces and nephews; and friends, Jean and Bill Walker of Strasburg, IL and Janet and Charlie Culver of Strasburg, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Garl F. Figgins; and great nephew, Fieldon J. Figgins.
