Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2010 in Grace Lutheran Church Cemetery, Strasburg, IL. The family will meet friends from 12:30-1:45 p.m. Friday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, IL. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Mrs. Price was born on February 12, 1922 in rural Strasburg, IL, the daughter of Walter A. L. and Clara A. Tiemann Kull. She married Ray Price on February 24, 1946 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stewardson, IL with the Rev. Kenneth Frankenstein officiating and they enjoyed 55 years together. He preceded her in death on October 21, 2001.
Lois was employed in a variety of jobs, including owning a grocery store in Strasburg. She later retired from Sta-Rite Ginnie Lou Hairpin Company in Shelbyville.
Surviving are her daughter, Thakla “Cookie” (husband Jess) Bowers of Owasso, OK; son, Ronald R. (wife Linda) Price of Springfield, IL; three grandchildren, Steven Romack, Karl (wife Robin) Romack and Sabrena (husband Daniel) Nash; and three great grandchildren, Kristopher and Nicklaus Romack and Austin Etherton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray; and two granddaughters, Yvonne and Karla Romack.
