Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 6, 2015 in Trinity Lutheran Church in Stewardson, IL with Rev. David J. Weaver officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Monday in the church. Burial will be in Stewardson Cemetery, Stewardson, IL. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, IL. Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran School, Stewardson, IL.
Mrs. Wittenberg was born on September 21, 1928 in Strasburg, IL, the daughter of Edgar William and Anna M. Spannagel Doehring. She graduated from Strasburg High School in the Class of 1946. Lona was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Stewardson, IL. She married Paul Robert Wittenberg on January 29, 1950.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; son, Rick Wittenberg and wife Debbie of Effingham, IL; two granddaughters, Alicia Wittenberg of Murfreesboro, TN and McKenzie Wittenberg of Effingham, IL; niece, Shary Yakey and husband John of Stewardson, IL; and nephew, Gary Brehmer and wife Mary Lou of Strasburg, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Retha Brehmer; and brother-in-law, Charles Brehmer.
