Loretta Louise Weber, 98, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 3:59 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2025, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL, with Rev. Tina Miller officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Township Cemetery, Mt. Zion, IL. Memorials may be given to the First Christian Church of Shelbyville, IL.

Loretta was born on May 18, 1926, in Ramsey, IL, the daughter of Orville S. and Rose Elizabeth (Schumacher) Hayes. She attended Ramsey schools and graduated in the Class of 1943, at the age of 17. Loretta married Willis Henry Weber on April 1, 1945, and they raised three children, Judith, David, and Gary. She was a skilled seamstress and baker, sharing her famous cinnamon rolls and apple pies right up to her very last years. She was a proud member of the First Christian Church in Shelbyville, IL, where she sang in the choir, was active in the women’s circle, and was named Deacon Emeritus.

Loretta is survived by her daughter, Judith Kay Sidwell and husband Joseph of Mt. Zion, IL; sons, David Eugene Weber and significant other Birdie of Fort Wayne, IN and Gary Lee Weber and wife Elaine of Rockford, IL; five grandchildren, Julie Inda (Paul), Jennifer Schmidt (Barry), Laura Easton (Jeff), Kyle Weber (Tania), and Matthew Weber (Jillian); nine great grandchildren, Logan Schmidt (Emma), Brandon Schmidt, Anna Schmidt, Jackson, Lucas and Grace Easton, and Audie, Elin and Marin Weber; five step great grandchildren, Ashleigh Carstens (Cameron), Arik Inda (Emily), Andrew Inda (Ria), Aaron Inda, and Alijah Inda (Cadance); and four step great great grandchildren, Paisleigh, EmmaLynn, Cayson, and Berkley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willis, on December 27, 1989; brothers, Ralph Hayes (Melba) and Noel Hayes (Eula); three sisters, Mildred Bartlett (Junior), Evelyn Hanneken (Paul) and Dorothy Ann Hayes in childhood; granddaughter, Jodi Nicole Sidwell; and dear friend, Gracie Neal.
