Private graveside services will be in Traughber Cemetery, Moweaqua, IL. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.
Mrs. Stivers was born on August 17, 1931 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of John and Ruby Beck Auvil. She was a homemaker and member of Strasburg United Methodist Church. She married Dale Richard Stivers on June 27, 1948. He died on December 14, 2006.
She is survived by her sons, James Stivers of Findlay, IL, Terry Stivers and wife Linda of Merrillville, IN and Steven Stivers of Wapella, IL; brother, Don Auvil of California; sister, Marie Portwood and husband Jack of Decatur, IL; five grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale Stivers; daughters-in-law, Sonja Stivers and Rose Stivers; and granddaughter, Neely Stivers.
