Louis R Williams

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2017 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Steve Williams officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Tower Hill Cemetery, Tower Hill, IL with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Louis was born on February 11, 1929 in Tower Hill, IL, the son of William Morris “Dick” and Neva Decema (Marsh) Williams. He graduated from Westervelt High School in the Class of 1946. Louis was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked for the C & EI Railroad and later was a dispatcher for the Union Pacific Railroad. Louis attended the Henton Church of God in Henton, IL. He loved listening to country music and was an avid fan of Ray Price. Louis enjoyed working in his yard and around his home. He married Charlotte Marie Tilley on June 18, 1950.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; children, Debra Diane “Debbie” Kennedy and husband Charles of Easley, SC, Steven Louis “Steve” Williams of Shelbyville, IL and Gregory Scott “Greg” Williams of Findlay, IL; and sister, June Pope of Daytona Beach, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Morris Williams; sister, LaVone Williams; and nephew, Warren Williams.
