Louise Heathcock , 85, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 2:12 a.m. Friday, January 21, 2022, in Shelbyville Manor.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2022 in Jordan Cemetery near Shelbyville, IL. Family and friends are invited to gather at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville, IL from 1:00-1:30 p.m. Saturday, before going in procession to the cemetery. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the Shelbyville Public Library for the purchase of books for children and children’s programs.

Louise was born on October 18, 1936, in Shelbyville, IL, the daughter of Ray C. and Ethel (Jennings) Graven. She graduated from Shelbyville High School High School in the Class of 1954. She married Bob Heathcock on September 2, 1956 in Shelbyville, IL. She attended Eastern Illinois University and graduated from Golden West College in California. Louise lived in California and Arizona for most of her adult life, where she worked as Business Office Manager for the Artificial Kidney Foundation of California, Membership/Fee for Service Manager for CIGNA, and as a Medicare Specialist for Eldorado Hospital in Tucson, AZ. She returned to live in Shelbyville in 1993, where she worked at Shelbyville Memorial Hospital until her retirement. Louise was active in Little League, Booster Club and PTA, and was a member of First Christian Church in Shelbyville. She enjoyed her volunteer work with children with special needs and working in the heart screening program for school children in the Garden Grove School District in California. She was also a Senior Pen Pal in Shelbyville, and enjoyed reading, working in her yard, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Louise is survived by her sons, Jeff Heathcock (Barb) of Lake Forest, CA, and Richard Heathcock (Julie) of Tucson, AZ; four grandchildren, Summer Traylor (Eric), Robert Heathcock, Bryce Heathcock, and Tyler Heathcock; two great grandchildren, Riley and Rhys Traylor; sister, Elizabeth Mueller of Joliet, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; son, Robert Arnold Heathcock in infancy; four brothers, Charles, Don, Robert, David and James Graven; and one sister, Eileen Woods.
