Louise Utsler
(May 28, 1947 – July 31, 2015)
A memorial service will be held at a later date on Monday, August 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Kevin Ray officiating. Casual attire is requested. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2015. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Saving Orphaned Animals.
Louise was born on May 28, 1947 in Shelby Co., IL, the daughter of Melvin R. and Wanda A. Allison Holley. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1965. Louise worked for Caterpillar, Inc. in Decatur, IL, until her retirement. She married Orville Dean Utsler on July 8, 1983. They owned and operated Double D Tack in Shelbyville for many years. Dean died on June 2, 2009. Louise was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Ladies of the Moose #1325 both in Shelbyville.
She is survived by her step-son, Orville Dean Utsler, Jr. and wife Amy of Mattoon, IL; step-daughter, Regina Nelson and husband Tim of St. Louis, MO; brother, Jim Holley and wife Barb of Shelbyville, IL; sister, Kayla Sphar of Shelbyville, IL; four step-grandchildren, Orville Dean “Trey” Utsler III and Jackson Utsler both of Mattoon, IL and Ian Nelson and Mackenzie Nelson both of St. Louis, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Dean.
