Lucinda S. Stone, 92, of Shelbyville, died at 10:46 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013 in her residence surrounded by all of her children.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013 in Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Shelbyville with Rev. E. Wade Helmkamp officiating. Visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL and one hour before services Wednesday in the church. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Shelbyville or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.

Mrs. Stone was born on June 24, 1920 in Strasburg, IL, the daughter of Friedrich W. and Lucinda Bauer Stremming. Lucinda graduated from Westervelt High School in the Class of 1938. She married Clarence F. “Stoney” Stone on September 21, 1941. Lucinda was a lifetime Wife, Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma. She worked for the Shelby County Water & Soil Conservation Department as a clerk, M. J. Wilson Auto Company as an insurance secretary, Sears, C.W. Insurance Company and Bauer Auction Service where she and her sisters ran the lunch wagon. She served on the Shelby County Courthouse Board of Supervisors. She was an Election Judge and was the Chief Family Officer (CFO) of the Stone household. She also volunteered her time to help the Shelby County American Cancer Society serving as Treasurer, Girl Scouts as a leader, American Red Cross as a nurses’ aide and was a dog and child trainer. Lucinda was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, VFW Auxiliary and a 42 year member of KOPS all in Shelbyville.

She is survived by her sons, Larry “Rocky” Stone and wife Mary of Montrose, IL, Jerry Stone and wife Bev of Pana, IL, Jacky “Jack” Stone and wife Ginger of Washington, IL and Earl Stone and special friend Cindy Lou Moser of Lexington, KY; daughters, Delores “Dee” Kiefer of Effingham, IL, Fritzie Nichols and husband Larry of Shelbyville, IL and Lucinda “Cindy” Morgan and husband Bob of Shelbyville, IL; 16 grandchildren; and 30 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence on October 24, 2009; son, Ronald Stone; infant daughter, Leota Stone; son-in-law, John Kiefer; brother, Roy Stremming; and three sisters, Frieda Mietzner, Minerva McNeese and Dorothy Edwards Graven.
