Marcella C Hawkins

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2010 in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Shelbyville with Father Don Wolford officiating. Visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday in the church. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday in Calvary Cemetery, Pana, IL. Memorials may be given to Sacred Heart Grade School at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Pana, IL, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Shelbyville, IL or donor’s choice. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville.
Marcella was born on May 27, 1915 in Pana, IL, the daughter of Michael N. and Elizabeth Beyers Kuhn. She graduated from Pana High School in the Class of 1933. Marcella was a secretary for the Federal Government for over 30 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Shelbyville and a former member of St. Albert The Great Catholic Church in Fairview Heights, IL. Marcella enjoyed watching golf and the St. Louis Cardinals. She lived in Hawthorne Inn in Shelbyville for the last seven years. She married Charles Blaine Hawkins on June 23, 1944 in Pana. He died on September 8, 1995.
Surviving are her ten nieces and nephews, locally including, William R. “Rich” Mochel and wife Sandy of Shelbyville and Marilyn Winter of Mt. Zion.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Blaine; two brothers, Wilbur and Cyril Kuhn; and sister, Mary Mochel.
