Marcella Stockman, 93, of Shelbyville, died at 6:45 a.m. Sunday, February 25, 2007 in Shelbyville Manor.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Shelbyville with Father Don Wolford officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with prayer service at 7:45 p.m. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the charity of your choice.

Marcella was born in Teutopolis, Illinois, on October 17, 1913 the daughter of John and Leona (Brumleve) Quatman. She graduated from Teutopolis High School in 1931 and from Eastern Illinois University in 1936. She taught for seven years in a one room school in Effingham County. She later taught for 17 years at Westervelt School and one year at Vine Street School in Shelbyville before it was closed. She married Charles A. Stockman on May 6, 1942 in St. Louis. Charles was serving in the U.S. Army.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Shelbyville, Shelby County Home Extension, Shelby County Retired Teachers, Illinois Retired Teachers and Ladies Guild of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Survived by three children, Patricia Ann (Joe) Peek of Greensboro, NC, Thomas Stockman of Champaign and Susan Stockman of Decatur; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Peek of Austin, TX, Kristin Thomas of Raleigh, NC and Kelly (Tobin) Shay of Wake Forest, NC; three sisters, Rose Hoisington of Robinson, Leone Glaub of Breese and Barbara (Roger) Worman of Teutopolis; one brother, William (Verena) Quatman of Teutopolis; sister-in-law, Christine Quatman of Effingham; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, on May 1, 1987; parents; and brother, Joseph Quatman.
