Margaret A. Messado

Margaret Anne Messado , 71,  of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 11:40 a.m. Friday, November 19, 2021 in Shelbyville Manor.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2021 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.  Funeral services will follow the visitation at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Gary Duckett officiating.  Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Margaret was born on January 30, 1950 in  Waukegan, IL, the daughter of Harold E. and Patricia J. Kane Hudson.  She married John Alan Messado and he preceded her in death.  Margaret was the manager of the Subway in Shelbyville for many years.  She later worked as a machine operator at Hydro-Gear in Sullivan for 17 years, until her retirement.  Margaret enjoyed cooking, gardening, tending to her flowers and camping with her family at Starved Rock State Park in Oglesby, IL.

She is survived by her son, Terry Messado of Shelbyville, IL; granddaughter, Felicia Messado of Shelbyville, IL: grandson, Emric Messado of Shelbyville, IL; great grandchildren, Carter and Monroe; brothers, Bob Hudson (Nancy) of Shelbyville, IL, Gene Hudson (Carolyn) of Albany, TX, Tom Hudson (Mary Beth)  of Vandalia, IL, Art Hudson of Shelbyville, IL, Joel Hudson of Shelbyville, IL, and Brian Hudson (Lila) of Shelbyville, IL; and sister, Jeannine Box of Downers Grove, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Alan Messado; and son, John Robert “Moose” Hawkins-Messado.
