Margaret M Bryson

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to the American Lung Association or donor’s choice.
Mrs. Bryson was born on June 18, 1934 in Shelbyville, the daughter of Theodore Newton and Dorothea E. “Dot” Hagan Mansfield. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1952. She began working as a secretary at Shelbyville High School and then was secretary for Ralph Cox, Superintendent of Shelby County Schools. She later was a legal secretary for Judge E.C. Eberspacher. She worked for the State of Illinois Department of Rehabilitation in Shelbyville and Mattoon for over 30 years, retiring in 1998. She was a member of the South Second Street Church of Christ in Shelbyville, former member and past officer of the American Business Women’s Association of Shelbyville and former member of the Investment Club in Shelbyville. She married Charles L. Bryson on June 22, 1952.
Surviving are her husband, Charles; sons, Chuck Bryson and wife Kathy of Shelbyville and Tim Bryson and wife Beverly of Mattoon; sister-in-law, Marileah Mansfield of Mesquite, TX; and five grandchildren, Joe Spicer, Todd Bryson, Alicia Bryson, Robert Bryson and William Bryson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, John Mansfield.
