Marguerite McNeese

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2016 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Gary Crowder and Sid Hutchinson officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Tower Hill Cemetery, Tower Hill, IL. Memorials may be given to the Shelby County Senior Center or the Shelbyville First United Methodist Church Roof Fund.
Marguerite was born on December 9, 1917 in Tower Hill, Illinois, the daughter of Anthony Brent and Rachel Ella Mills Mathias. She graduated from Tower Hill High School in the Class of 1935. Marguerite was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Shelbyville, IL, Daughters of the American Revolution, Order of the Eastern Star and Shelby County Home Extension. She married Woodrow F. “Woody” McNeese on March 17, 1946. He died on April 7, 2011.
She is survived by her son, Patrick McNeese and wife Mary Ann of Tower Hill, IL; sisters-in law, Peg Mathias Smith of Beecher City, IL and Marilyn Mathias of Port Austin, MI; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Woodrow; brothers, Garvin “Bill” Mathias, Anthony B. Mathias, Jr., and Edwin F. Mathias, Sr.; and sister, Velma Barringer.
