Maribelle Hostetler

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2009 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Ron Newman officiating. Visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, near Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to the Tower Hill Free Methodist Church.

Mrs. Hostetler was born on July 2, 1921 in Clarksburg, Illinois, the daughter of Grover T. and Edith F. Jones Shanholtzer. She graduated from Tower Hill High School and was a member of the Tower Hill Free Methodist Church. She married Justus LeRoy Spracklen. She later married J. Fred Hostetler on March 13, 1954. He died on August 9, 1999.

Surviving are her sons, Peter Spracklen of St. Ann, MO, Roy Spracklen and wife Donna of Thomasboro, IL, George Spracklen and wife Pat of St. Charles, MO and Paul Spracklen and wife Melinda of Wachula, FL; daughters, Ruby Buesking of Mattoon, IL, Fanny Urfer and husband Dean of Tower Hill, IL, Diane Largent and husband Ray of Pana, IL, Joyce Thompson and husband Arville of Tower Hill, IL and Edana Karnes of Taylorville, IL; daughter-in-law, Joyce Hostetler of Burleson, TX; 18 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, J. Fred Hostetler; two sons, Richard and Fred Hostetler; two grandchildren, Danelle Urfer and James Largent; four brothers, Delbert, Kenneth, Aubrey and Maurice Shanholtzer; and two sisters, Velma McKittrick and Juanita Lewey.
