Marie Blythe

Memorial services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, January 3, 2009 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Kevin Ray officiating. Visitation from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday. Private family graveside services at a later date in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be made to Shelby Memorial Hospital Foundation. Following the memorial service, a reception will be held at Deer Trail Golf Course in Shelbyville.
Marie was born on July 12, 1923 in Shelby County, Illinois, the daughter of Luther Cass and Merle Alicia Smith Arthur. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Shelbyville. She married Coy D. Blythe, Sr. on June 22, 1941 in Shelbyville. He died on November 4, 1987.
Surviving are her son, C. Daniel Blythe, Jr. and wife Mary of Hinsdale, Illinois; brother, Gerald Arthur of San Leandro, CA; granddaughter, Sarah Blythe Ryan and husband Kevin of Chicago, Illinois; grandson, Christopher Daniel Blythe of Miami, Florida; granddaughter, Claire Blythe Parker and husband Jeremy of Chicago; and great grandchildren, Aidan Ryan, Spencer Ryan, Sitota Ryan and Benjamin Parker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Coy; brothers, Bill, Luther and Gene Arthur; and sisters, Annabelle Mathias, Hazel Newberry and Lucille Smith.
