Marilyn Helton Foelsing, 72, of Effingham, formerly of Strasburg, IL, died at 9:44 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010 in St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham, IL, surrounded by her entire family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2010 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Strasburg with Rev. Steven Becker officiating. Visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg and one hour before services Friday in the church. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Strasburg. Memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Strasburg or the National Parkinson Foundation.

Mrs. Foelsing was born on June 22, 1937 in Shelby County, IL, the daughter of Fred and Mabel Irene Barker Helton. Marilyn was a graduate of Windsor High School. She married Delbert D. Foelsing on July 10, 1955 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Strasburg. They moved to Effingham in 1997 from Strasburg. Marilyn was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Strasburg and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Marilyn leaves a loving and faithful family: husband, Delbert; children, Maleah (Jim) Whitehair of Effingham, Deanna Foelsing of Effingham, Jeanne (Mark) Wildman of Strasburg and James (Christine) Foelsing of St. Louis, MO; brothers, Joe (Darlene) Helton of Shelbyville, Carl (Elaine) Helton of Shelbyville, Dwayne (Glennie) Helton of Ozark, MO and Noel Dean (Gloria) Helton of Windsor; sisters, June Morris of Windsor, Bette O’Connor of Milford, MI and Joy (Bill) Duckett of Shelbyville; sister-in-law, Barbara Helton of Shelbyville; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Floyd, Raymond and Lawrence Helton; and sister, Thelma Bryson.
