Marion J Danneberger
(May 18, 1928 – January 14, 2018)
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2018 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Dan Seibert officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to Land of Lincoln Honor Flight or the Food Pantry of the First United Methodist Church in Shelbyville.
Marion was born on May 18, 1928 in Westervelt, IL, the son of Marion Vivian and Bessie Nora (Pfeiffer) Danneberger. After graduating from Westervelt High School in 1946, Marion entered the service and was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He served with pride in the 68th AAA gun battalion along with six other Shelby County men. He married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Park, on May 26, 1951. Marion worked for Macari Oil in Shelbyville from 1957 – 1979. In 1979, he opened Danneberger Oil and operated it until his retirement in 1995. Marion was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Shelbyville, IL. He had a great life!
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; sons, Michael Danneberger of Windsor, IL and Larry (Tracey) Danneberger of Shelbyville, IL; daughters, Kathy (Chuck) Compton of Shelbyville, IL and Linda (Brad) Halbrook of Shelbyville, IL; sister, Joyce Brewer of Shelbyville, IL: grandchildren, Brad (Connie) Compton, Brett (Kristina) Compton, Blake Compton, Nick (fiancée Sarah Travers) Danneberger, Hannah Danneberger, Brian (Jeri Ann) Danneberger, Craig (Shauna) Danneberger, Hailey (Zach) Boehm, Cole Danneberger, Ashli Crowe and Austin Halbrook; and great grandchildren, Luke and Kylie Compton, Aila, Mykael, Zoe, Rozelyn and Nathan Welke, Grady, Saige, Ace and Joel Danneberger, Tate and Jessa Danneberger and Leo Crowe.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David Mark Danneberger; grandson, Nathan Danneberger; and brother-in-law, Rex Brewer.
