Marion Oliver “MOP” Pritts, 97, of Shelbyville, formerly of Findlay, Illinois, died at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, January 7, 2010 in Shelbyville Manor.

A service for family and friends will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.

Mr. Pritts was born on April 6, 1912 near Findlay, Illinois, the son of James Marion and Mary Elizabeth Fulton Pritts. He graduated from Findlay High School in the Class of 1930. He was a retired farmer and also worked for the Ann Arbor Company in Shelbyville, Houdaille-Hershey Corporation in Decatur and was a bus driver for Shelbyville Schools for 12 years. He married Betty F. Wheeler on January 13, 1942.

Surviving are his wife, Betty; son, James M. Pritts and wife Sandra of Shelbyville; grandson, Walter Ellison and wife Michelle of Shelton, Washington; great grandchildren, Kyra and Joe Ellison of Shelton, Washington; and special friend,Carman Brown of Pana.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Harry, Perry, Henry and Alva Pritts; and one sister, Lillian Goddard.
