Marjorie Louise Kensil, 83, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 3:10 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2018 in HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital, Shelbyville, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2018 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Kevin Ray officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the First Christian Church in Shelbyville, IL.

Marjorie was born on September 1, 1935 in Shelbyville, IL the daughter of Lawrence H. and Delcie Mildred (Lewis) Mentz. She graduated from Shelbyville High School the Class of 1953. Marjorie was a secretary for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) office and later worked for the Floral Boutique both in Shelbyville, IL. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Shelbyville, IL. Marjorie married Donald Gene Kensil on September 13, 1953 and he preceded her in death on December 16, 2004.

She is survived by her son, Mark Kensil (Cheryl) of Effingham, IL; daughter, Donna Lindsay of Champaign, IL; brothers, Lawrence “Larry” Mentz (JoAnne) of Findlay, IL and Lonnie Mentz of Glendale, AZ; grandchildren, Nicole Dorris of Champaign, IL and Dana Poe (Blake) of Effingham, IL; great grandchildren, Victoria Dorris, Jack Poe, Aubrey Poe, and Jace Poe; and great great granddaughter, Violet Carraway.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; infant son, Dyke Bradley Kensil; and grandson, Brett Kensil.
