Marla K Powers

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 21, 2011 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Mark Sanders officiating. Visitation from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Mrs. Powers was born on September 29, 1958 in Shelbyville, IL, the daughter of Lawrence Eldon “Larry” and Roberta May Portwood Stevens. Marla graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1978. She was baptized in Shelby Christian Church in Shelbyville. She married Donald E. Powers on September 29, 1979.
Surviving are her husband Don; son, Adam Donald Lawrence Powers and wife Amber of Shelbyville; daughter, Kayla Noel Eve Carlock and husband Jerome of Shelbyville; brothers, Paul Eldon Stevens and Ralph Darin Stevens both of Cowden; sisters, Beverly Hopkins and husband Fred of Seneca, MO, Joyce Pendlay of Heartville and Roberta Lee Stevens of Cowden; and two grandchildren, Payton Lynn Mae Powers and Remington Eugene Loren Carlock.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Shirley Arkebauer, Sherrie Collins and Pamela Brown; and niece, Kristal Dawn Brown.
