Frances Marlene (Hudson) Flesner, 86, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019 in Shelbyville Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2019 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Kevin Ray officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the First Christian Church of Shelbyville, IL.

Marlene was born on March 24, 1932 in Tower Hill, IL, the daughter of Bruce O. and Opal V. (Thompson) Hudson. She graduated from Windsor High School in the Class of 1950. Marlene was a cashier for Shelby Loan and Trust, and later retired as head cashier at First Trust Bank both in Shelbyville, IL. She married Robert Karl Flesner on February 13, 1955. Marlene was a member of the First Christian Church and the Kuilka Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution both in Shelbyville, IL. She enjoyed gardening, making strawberry jam, bowling and playing bunco with her bank friends and spending the winter months in southern Texas with her husband, Bob.

She is survived by her husband, Bob; two sons, Bradley K. Flesner (Kathy) of O’Fallon, MO and Michael E. Flesner (Ida) of Springfield, IL; sister, Linda Manuel of Shelbyville, IL; grandchildren, Bailey Kimball (Christopher) of Columbus, GA, Sterling Flesner of Springfield, IL, Michael Houser (Deanna) of O’Fallon, MO, Andrew Flesner (Tricia) of St. Peters, MO and Stephanie Dopplick (John) of Hillsboro, MO; great grandchildren, Brittany, Emily and Christopher Houser all of O’Fallon, MO; and aunt, Marvella Howard of Shelbyville, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Karen Flesner; and two sisters, Joanne Powell and Dorothy Riley.
