Mary Catherine “Granny” Hudson, 86, of Tower Hill, IL, passed away at 7:24 p.m. Sunday, November 5, 2017 in her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2017 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Randy Miller officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.

Mary was born on February 27, 1931 in Moweaqua, IL, the daughter of Floyd Gail and Evelyn Marie (Rodman) Dial. She graduated from Moweaqua High School in the Class of 1949. Mary began working as a secretary for Moulton Middle School and then for Carl Grabb Motors both in Shelbyville, IL. She later worked for International Paper in Shelbyville and County Market in Pana, IL. She enjoyed cooking for her family, working puzzles, traveling, and playing games on her iPad. She married Robert Wayne Hudson on July 22, 1950. He died on January 24, 1991.

She is survived by her sons, Robert Wayne Hudson, Jr. (Marsha) of Nokomis, IL and Kenneth Warren Hudson (Lori) of Findlay, IL; daughters, Gayle Schafer (Mike) of Pana, IL, Sharon Young (Chris) of Charleston, IL and Nancy Eschbaugh of Shelbyville, IL; brother, Jim Dial (Nadine) of Moweaqua, IL; sister, Gloria Jean Durbin (Denny) of Decatur, IL; grandchildren, Bryan Robbins (Brooke), Dave Eschbaugh (Mari), Aaron Schafer (Sue), Kelly Barringer (Aaron), Kim Bozinoski (Darren), Michael Payne, Samantha Jensen (Tim), and Matthew Hoffman (Molly); and great grandchildren, Eric Schafer, Liz Schafer, Marissa Williams, Toby Barringer, Lacey Barringer, Abby Barringer, Ashlee Robbins, Cameron Robbins, Liam Bozinoski, Nate Bozinoski, Maddie Hoffman, Maddox Hoffman, Maverick Hoffman, and twins Owen Jensen and Ava Jensen are due in February.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; daughter, Brenda Hudson; and brothers, Jack Dial and Bill Dial.
