Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Shelbyville with Father Don Wolford officiating. Visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Arrangements are by Howe & Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to the Building Fund of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, N. Rt. 128, Shelbyville, IL 62565 or St. Joseph’s Home, 3306 S. 6th St. Rd., Springfield, IL 62703.
Mrs. Mochel was born on May 2, 1913 in Pana, Illinois, the daughter of Michael N. and Elizabeth Beyers Kuhn. She graduated from Pana High School in the Class of 1931. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Shelbyville and St. Joseph’s Home Corterie in Springfield. She married Martin Osmar Mochel on February 6, 1935 in Pana. He died on October 4, 1997.
Surviving are her sons, William R. “Rich” Mochel and wife Sandy of Shelbyville and Michael J. Mochel and wife Becky of Fairfax, Virginia; daughter, Marilyn Winter of Mt. Zion; daughter-in-law, Rosemarie Mochel of LaGrange; sister, Marcella Hawkins of Shelbyville; sister-in-law, Mary Kay (Mochel) Dale of Tucson, AZ; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Martin O. Mochel, Jr.; son-in-law, Don Winter; brothers, Wilbur and Cyril Kuhn; and grandson, Brian Mochel.
