Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 31, 2008 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Gary Crowder officiating. Visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church of Shelbyville.
Mrs. Walden was born on September 3, 1918 in Strasburg, Illinois, the daughter of Willard Andrew and Esther Fern York Shaffer. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1936. She married Aubrey Ross Walden on November 19, 1941. They lived in Hallsville, MO from 1959-1988. She was a switchboard operator for the University of Missouri Medical Center. Mary was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Shelbyville.
Surviving are her son, Howard Ray Walden and close friend Nella of Kansas City, MO; brother, Dwane Shaffer and wife Pearl of Shelbyville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Aubrey on November 22, 2001; daughter, Connie Sue Walden on October 24, 2007; brother, Dwight Shaffer; and sister, Betty Milligan.
