Max D Tabbert

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2019 in Grace Cemetery, Strasburg, IL with Rev. E. Wade Helmkamp officiating. Family and friends are invited to a lunch at Grace Lutheran Church in Strasburg, IL immediately following the graveside service. Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, IL is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given to Grace Lutheran Church in Strasburg, IL.
Max was born on June 17, 1927 in rural Stewardson, IL, the son of Noah E. and Beryl C. (Huffmaster) Tabbert. He married Nina R. Stremming on November 27, 1952 in Grace Lutheran Church, Strasburg, IL. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II, with assignments in Germany and France. He was a lifelong farmer in the Windsor area and dearly loved attending the local auctions. He was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the University of Illinois basketball and football teams.
He is survived by his brother, Herbert Tabbert of Effingham, IL; sisters, Gail Rincker of Shelbyville, IL and Alma Perry of Mattoon, IL; brother-in-law, Dale Stremming and wife Helen of Windsor, IL; sister-in-law, Eunice Buesking and husband Fred of Springfield, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nina; son, Jeff; brothers, Noah, Jr., Otha, and Maurice Tabbert; and sisters, Margaret, Ellinere and Wanda Lee Tabbert.
