Mayme M. Matlock, 79, of Shelbyville, IL passed away peacefully at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 surrounded by her family at home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2015 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL, with Rev. Don Jefferies officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery, near Assumption, IL. Memorials may be given to Cancer Care Specialists of Central IL, Lincolnland Visiting Nurses or First Assembly of God Church in Shelbyville, IL.

Mayme was born February 2, 1936 in Pickaway Township, near Findlay, IL the daughter of George and Lola Margaret Huffer Hubbartt. She graduated from Findlay High School, where she was the salutatorian of the class of 1954 and a member of the National Honor Society. Mayme began working at Sta-Rite Ginnie Lou and later was a secretary for the Oliver Corporation both in Shelbyville, IL. She dearly loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and was the rock of the family. Mayme married Verne Leon Matlock on December 26, 1958. He preceded her in death on March 31, 2004.

Mayme is survived by her children, Beverly Harlow of Jefferson City, MO, Bradley Matlock and wife Mona of Shelbyville, IL, Jerry Matlock of Shelbyville, IL, James Matlock and wife Christine of Shelbyville, IL, Terry Matlock of Shelbyville, IL and Gregory Matlock and wife Deziray of Herrick, IL; brothers, Morris Hubbartt, Sr. and wife Luella of Pana, IL and Robert Hubbartt of Shelbyville, IL; eight grandchildren, Trevor Friskey, Alex Matlock, Morgan Matlock, Evan Matlock, Bradley Matlock, Robert Matlock, Ronald Matlock and Will Matlock; great granddaughter, Breanna Vice; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Verne; and brother, Richard Hubbartt.
