Melvin Charles Krile, 82, of Windsor, IL, died at 10:08 a.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2016 in Heartland Christian Village, Neoga, IL.

A memorial graveside service will be held at a later date in Windsor Cemetery, Windsor, IL. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, IL. Memorials may be given to Grace Lutheran Church, Strasburg, IL, National Multiple Sclerosis Society or Parkinson’s Foundation.

Melvin was born on May 19, 1934 in Windsor, IL, the son of Elmer Louis and Esther Fern (Williamson) Krile. He graduated from Windsor High School in the Class of the 1952. Melvin began working for the Oliver Corporation in Shelbyville, IL. He then became a welder for Blaw-Knox in Mattoon, IL retiring with over 40 years of employment. He also farmed with his father and son and remained active in the farming operation until the last few years. Melvin was a lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church in Strasburg, IL. He married Shirley Ann Finley on September 19, 1954. She died on June 1, 2013.

He is survived by his son, Derrick (Nickie) Krile of Windsor, IL; daughter, Marianna (Leland) Moffett of Windsor, IL; sister, Maurine Kalkwarf of Flanagan, IL; grandchildren, Kendra (Brock) Montgomery of Gays, IL, Jackie (Kevin) Beitz of Windsor, IL, Blake (Tanya) Moffett of Gays, IL, Melissa (Josh) Pruemer of Strasburg, IL, and Courtnay (Bob) Orman of Windsor, IL; step-grandchildren, Tab Varney of Windsor, IL and Phillip (Alicia) Varney of Windsor, IL; great grandchildren, Paisley and Bryce Montgomery, Eli and Owen Pruemer, Brenlee and Liam Orman, Madison and Maverick Beitz and one more great grandchild expected this year; and step-great grandchildren, Asa and Nora Varney.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley; and brother-in-law, Clarence Kalkwarf.
